Tokyo approves US Aegis missile interceptor system
Japan has formally decided to use the US military land-based Aegis missile interceptor system. The move comes as a response to the growing threat from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono met with his South Korean counterpart Kang Kyung-wha, and later told a press conference that he hopes the international community can put more pressure on Pyongyang.
