Chinese trade surplus in April reaches 262.3 billion yuan
China’s exports in yuan-denominated terms rose by 14.3 percent in April compared to the corresponding period in 2016, according to customs data released on Monday. Imports increased by 18.6 percent, bringing a trade surplus of 262.3 billion yuan, or nearly 38 billion US dollars. As of April, Chinese foreign trade stood at 2.22 trillion yuan, up 16.2 percent year-on-year.
