Tsai’s approval ratings fall as first year as Taiwan leader nears end
Tsai Ing-wen will mark her first year as leader of Taiwan on May 20 against a backdrop of falling approval ratings. Tsai promised to introduce a new economic model, but recent polls show over 80 percent of people are not satisfied with Taiwan’s economic performance over the past year.
