Japan, China agree to boost economic and financial cooperation
Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso said on Saturday that China and Japan have agreed to bolster economic and financial cooperation. He made the remarks after meeting with Chinese Finance Minister Xiao Jie on the sidelines of the Asian Development Bank’s annual meeting in the city of Yokohama, east Japan. Aso said both countries agreed to launch joint research on issues of mutual interest, and will report the outcomes during talks in 2018 in China. On Friday, finance officials from Japan, China and South Korea agreed to resist all forms of protectionism at a trilateral meeting.
